Antiquary 12 years old Review

By Miguel in Tasting , Antiquary

A world well-known blended… and I really had very low expectations here. I thought I would taste something much like Johnnie Walker or Chival Regal. But let’s review it anyway…

“I was expecting something like Chivas 12yo and found instead a fantastic lovely smoky blend. So much spices and such a lovely smoky hug. Quite enjoyable”

Antiquary 12 year
A rounded, smooth blend, the Antiquary 12 year old is a great whisky which Jim Murray awarded an incredible 92 points to!. It comes in a diamond shaped bottled.

This dram has a gold-like color.

Nose (87): average. honey, spices, vanilla, smoke, citrus, candies.

Palate (90): powerful, oily. honey, cinnamon, spices, citrus, wood, vanilla, toffee, smoke.

Finish (89): longer than average. honey, wood, spices, smoke.

So based on other whiskies I have already tasted I rate this Antiquary 12 year with 89 points over 100.

I don’t mind saying I am wrong when I am really wrong. And I was wrong with this whisky, quite nice and complex definitively a blend to consider
