Arran The Devils Punchbowl is a single malt Scotch whisky limited release of 6,660 numbered bottles. This cask strength vatting of 24 Arran casks includes 1996, 97, 98 & 2006 vintages with a mix of 11 ex-bourbon barrels and 13 sherry casks. Arran Arran Distillery was commissioned by the Isle of Arran Distillers in 1995 to produce Arran malt whisky. Arran Distillery is situated just south of Lochranza on the northern tip of the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland. Set in a stunning location between mountains and sea Arran is a small distillery is equipped with two stills, dunnage warehouses, a visitor centre offering distillery tours and a distillery caf. Arran malt whisky is matured in sherry, bourbon, port and wine casks in order to produce an ever-evolving and expanding range of whiskies including Arran single malts and Arran blended scotch. The Sleeping Warrior release comprises Arran single malt whisky matured in both European and American oak casks. Arran Machrie Moor is a peated expression of Arran malt whisky. Nose:The nose is fresh and vibrant; a delightful combination of classic dried fruits, vanilla essence, along with spiced-wood aromas. A touch of butterscotch and orange zest with light peat in the background. Palate:Palate is dominated by warm and rich sherry sweetness, prunes and apricots primarily, with hints of European oak, nutmeg, white pepper and muscovado sugar. Over time, a subtle touch of tobacco leaf and green tea emerges. Finish:Lingering sweet and spicy notes with a delicate smoky twist towards the end.
