Arran Hidden Jewels: #ArranWhisky Twitter Tasting

By Miguel in Tasting , Arran

Finally I found the time and peace of mind to write my review of the #ArranWhisky tasting that was on June, 30th with Steve Rush from The Whisky Wire and a good amount of fellow whisky lovers.

I really like a lot Arran whiskies so this chance of tasting the new 17 years old was a thing I could’t reject. And well… the other expressions were also quite exciting specially the Miss Black bottle that was specially bottle for Miss Black’s wedding.

So let’s review the whiskies…

Arran 10 years old

“Quite floral and sweet... a really interesting introductory malt into the Arran range of whiskies”

88
Arran 10 Year Old + Nosing Glasses
A medium-bodied, citrussy dram that shows an elegance and deftness of touch that belies the distillery's youth. Tasting the complexity and assurance of this youngster it is difficult to believe that the distillery only opened in 1995. A great achievement.

This dram has a fino-like color.

Nose (88): more than average. honey, floral, citrus, fruits, grass.

Palate (89): powerful, oily. honey, citrus, malt, vanilla, cinnamon, pears.

Finish (88): longer than average. honey, citrus, spices.

So based on other whiskies I have already tasted I rate this Arran 10 Year Old + Nosing Glasses with 88 points over 100.
