“Rather interesting dram that you can only taste at the distillery ... or with the chaps of Master of Malt. I prefer though the raw power of the 12 years old.”
This dram has a amber-like color.
Nose (90): more than average. peat, honey, vanilla, fruits, a little pears, salt. More complex than 12 years old but not as much as 16 years old. Rather interesting.
Palate (92): powerful, oily. peat, salt, peach, honey, vanilla, pepper, rubber, espresso.
Finish (91): longer than average. peat, salt, pepper, honey, citrus. So based on other whiskies I have already tasted I rate this Lagavulin Distillery Only with 91 points over 100.
